Brave leaders choose courage over comfort and take ownership and accountability.

Billie believes that bravery is finding common ground, starting with a common love for our children and commitment to public education. The issues facing us in education today are different and more complex than in our childhood. Our opinions are not needed. Billie's eagerness and ability to facilitate tough conversations are.

Let's have a conversation.

Hello, I'm Billie.

My most important role is as a mom to a curious I-SS middle schooler. I'm engaged in my son's education by volunteering in our schools and as PTSO chair, on the playing field as a parent coach, and formally Cub Scouts as a den leader. I'm a lay leader in my faith community and co-organizer of the 5k charity run for mental health. I'm the owner and president of Brainy Brandworks, a brand communication practice that facilitates qualitative research to help companies understand how people think, feel, and act and then translate the insights into actionable strategies. My greatest strengths are creative thinking, problem-solving, and consensus building, which are skills needed on our school board.

"Billie is an incredible resource for The Brawley School community as PTSO Chair. She has a true heart for students and teachers and works to ensure they have the best environment and opportunities to be successful. Most impressive to me is her ability to listen and identify the needs of our school. She's then able to match these needs with creative solutions. The Brawley School is grateful for her service."

Mark Shinkaruk, Principal of Brawley Middle IBO
